Visit Dartmoor ambassador Malcolm Snelgrove will be hosting an exclusive Capture the Action workshop at Bicton Arena International Horse Trials on August 20.

Malcolm, a renowned photographer with many high profile commissions, will teach budding photographers how to hone their skills with the camera while taking images of equine athletes competing in dressage, showjumping and cross country.

The workshop takes place on the Sunday of Bicton’s international competition when some of the world’s best riders, including William Fox-Pitt, will be in action. Advise will be given on how to get the very best action shots of the riders as they tackle fixed timber fences at speed, their horses making an awe inspiring subject against the stunning backdrop of Bicton’s rolling parkland.

During the workshop advise will be given on horse sense, such as where to stand and how to capture the gaits at their best, as well as more technical advise such as equipment, composition and light.

The cost of the workshop is £145 per person and includes meals and refreshments.
